Once your diagnostic hearing consultation is complete, the results of the assessment will be shared and explained to you. There are different types of hearing loss, for hearing losses that are conductive or mixed, we are sometimes required to send a referral to your GP or an ENT Specialist as the origin can sometimes be medically or surgically treated. If it cannot be treated or you have permanent sensorineural hearing loss, where it leads to an organ of hearing damage, nerve damage, or both or higher up in the auditory pathway, then we may advise hearing aids as treatment.
